What FilterOut is
FilterOut Australia is an independent publisher of information and reviews about Australian tap water quality and water filter suppliers. We are not a water filter seller, installer, laboratory, or government body, and we are not affiliated with any water utility or supplier we cover.

Everything on this site is general information prepared without knowledge of your circumstances. It is not, and must not be relied on as, professional advice of any kind — including health or medical advice, plumbing or trade advice, or financial advice. Water quality varies by location, property and time; decisions about drinking water and health should take account of your own situation and, where appropriate, advice from a qualified professional. Plumbing work in Australia must be performed by licensed plumbers in accordance with state law.
Reviews, scores and opinions
FilterOut scores, verdicts, rankings and commentary are editorial opinions, honestly held, based on the criteria set out in our published scoring methodology and on information available to us at the time of review — including supplier websites, published pricing, certification registers, and publicly available customer feedback. They reflect our genuine assessment; they are not statements that any supplier has engaged in wrongdoing, and they are not guarantees of the experience you will have with any supplier.
Our independence
We accept no payment, commission, affiliate revenue, sponsorship or other consideration from any supplier, manufacturer or retailer we cover — for placement, for scores, for reviews, or at all. No supplier can pay to appear on this site or to change how they are assessed. If that ever changes, this page and the affected content will say so plainly.
Accuracy and currency of information
We take care to publish accurate information and to state our sources — water quality figures are drawn from the relevant utility’s own published reporting, and supplier details from public materials. However, supplier offerings, pricing, warranties and contact details change without notice, utilities revise their data, and errors are possible despite our efforts. Information on this site may therefore be out of date or incomplete at the time you read it. Verify any detail that matters — particularly pricing, warranty terms and certifications — directly with the supplier or utility before acting on it.
Suppliers and third-party sites
Links to supplier websites and other third-party sites are provided for convenience. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content. Any dealings you have with a supplier — quotes, purchases, installations, warranties — are solely between you and that supplier. We are not a party to, and accept no responsibility for, those transactions.
Intellectual property and acceptable use
The content of this site — including text, scores, data compilations, graphics and code — is owned by or licensed to us and protected by copyright. You may view, share links to, and quote brief extracts of our content with attribution. You must not reproduce our content at scale, scrape the site, or republish our scores or data compilations commercially without our written permission. Utility water-quality figures we cite remain the work of the relevant utilities.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that: the site is provided “as is”; to the maximum extent permitted by law we exclude all other warranties, and we are not liable for any loss or damage (including indirect or consequential loss) arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its content. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited, at our option, to the re-supply of the relevant information or services or the cost of re-supply.
