The short version: this site collects almost nothing. No advertising, no analytics profiles, no tracking cookies, no selling of data — ever. The only personal information we ever hold is what you choose to send us — the contents of an email you write to us. The site itself has no forms and collects nothing.

Overview

This policy explains how FilterOut Australia (“we”, “us”) handles personal information in connection with filterout.com.au. We aim to handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

Information you give us. The site has no signup forms, subscriptions or accounts — there is nothing on the site that asks for your details. If you choose to email us — a question, a correction request, or a supplier listing enquiry — we hold that correspondence and your contact details in order to respond.

Technical information. Like effectively every website, our hosting infrastructure keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and operational purposes. We don’t use these to identify or profile visitors.

That’s the complete list. The site has no user accounts, no comment system, no subscription forms, and no payment processing.

What we don’t do

We don’t run advertising. We don’t use analytics services that profile you, and we don’t set tracking cookies. We have no affiliate relationships, so there is no affiliate click-tracking. We never sell, rent or trade personal information — to anyone, for any reason.

How we use information

Only for the purpose you gave it to us: correspondence to answer you, and server logs to keep the site secure and functioning. We don’t use your information for any secondary purpose without asking you first.

Storage and overseas disclosure

The site and our email services are operated using reputable third-party providers whose infrastructure may be located overseas (including the United States). Personal information you send us may therefore be stored or processed outside Australia by those providers, subject to their own security practices.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@filterout.com.au and we’ll action it promptly. Since we hold so little, this is usually quick.

Complaints, changes and contact

If you have a privacy concern, contact us first at info@filterout.com.au and we’ll do our best to resolve it. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au). We may update this policy from time to time; the current version is always at this page.
